Yousuke is a typical high school student. He worries about his homework, can't help but stare when a cute girl walks by, and sometimes wishes the school mysteriously imploded in on itself so he didn't have to deal with classwork anymore.

But then again, that's a good majority of male students everywhere.

Under the surface however, Yousuke can be considered the kind of person that's much more considerate of others than he should be. While he's prone to whining, complaining, and joking around when he's with his friends, it's another matter entirely when he's around strangers. He's still friendly, and easy to talk to, but this facet of his personality is essentially a professional front he's developed to deal with the flak he's received thanks to his father's job.

It's also part of the reason why Yousuke has grown to become as perceptive as he is. Having to deal with a number of people that speak to him with a smile only to turn around and talk trash about him when he's not listening, he's learned to pick up on what people are really saying half of the time, and has applied this deductive reasoning to a number of things in his life, even murder cases.

However, despite how easy it is for him to develop his own pessimistic views of people, he's very loyal to the people he considers his friends, and hides no secrets from them, trusting them to speak their minds to him should they need to. Basically, he's easygoing and laidback most of the time, but can be serious and passionate when the situation calls for it, with an underlining sense of loyalty and responsibility to top it all off.
